Frequently asked questions
- 01You can enroll in a program through the Programs Page. Choose the program that you would like to enroll your child into and click (Enroll Now). This will take you to a full description of your chosen program and then to the checkout once you've hit the "Add to Cart" button. Some of our classes will be registration only. The link will take you to register for the classes and then a pay link will be sent out one week before the class begins. These classes will not show up in the purchase class page.
- 02We plan to offer one class per week for our 5 week (mini-seasons), adhering to the scheduled times and utilizing the same location. Our goal is to continue growing and, in time, expand to offering multiple classes per week, with both morning and afternoon schedules available to better serve our families. For our new classes in 2026 Basketball Skills Training and Off-Season Athletic Performance Training we are only offering them on the scheduled dates and times listed.
- 03At Called to Play, the safety and well-being of every child is our top priority. All children will remain with their group and a coach at all times. For our Mini-Seasons only, restroom breaks will be supervised, with both a male and female coach present. Our staff is trained to provide a safe, positive environment. Each team member has completed Ministry Safe or Darkness to Light training, equipping them to recognize and prevent potential risks. Additionally, Coach Chase is CPR, AED, and First Aid certified through the American Red Cross, ensuring that safety and care are always at the forefront of our program.
- 04Every child should come dressed in their Called to Play shirt, athletic bottoms, and athletic shoes. Each child will receive one Called to Play shirt on their first day of class. Depending on the weather, a light jacket may be needed. Please send your child with a water bottle and any additional snacks they may need. No snacks or water will be provided.
- 05Character building and faith are at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to help kids grow not just in athletic skills, but in the kind of qualities that will grow their faith and lead them to Christ. Called to Play uses devotional ideas and content from Kids Corner. We focus on one character trait each class that is biblical and encourages values that support the fruits of the Spirit, as described in Galatians 5:22-23 — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
- 06If a class is cancelled due to weather, we will add an additional session or week to make up for cancelled classes. If multiple days are affected, we will schedule "make-up days" as needed to help stay on track.
- 07We will primarily focus on sports fundamentals such as throwing, catching, kicking, balancing, and gross motor skills. Our sports curriculum will cover a variety of activities, potentially including, soccer, baseball, frisbee, basketball, football, kick-ball and obstacle course challenges. In addition, we'll incorporate classic team games that promote teamwork, problem-solving, healthy competition, and, above all, FUN!
- 08Called to Play is designed as a drop-off event, giving parents time to run errands, grab coffee with a friend, or enjoy some quiet time. However, parents are more than welcome to stay and watch the class. Our location has restrooms and a covered area for seating. Plus, we’re in a beautiful park where parents can take a walk and be active as well!
- 09No, however the classes are intended for athletes entering middle and high school competitive play. The instruction will be higher level and athletes may have difficulty keeping up with the pace and expectations of the class if they are just starting to learn the sport.
- 10We will adjust to levels of fitness and challenge each athlete where they are at to help them reach their goals. However, these twice a week training sessions will be pretty intense. The goal is to help athletes improve their speed, strength, conditioning and agility in a six week period to prepare for an upcoming sport or jumpstart their training.
